THE STORY

What do a couple out of work tree cutter/fireline diggers do when times get lean in the middle of winter?  They get entrepeneurial and buy a little old delivery van.  Vinny's English degree landed him with a chainsaw in his hands for years and Chris's travels were supported through work on a reforestation crew.  Vinny had done a stint years back as a handyman and noticed a need for a truck to move people's stuff.  It was time for a change and the long Montana winter had snowed them out of work...
...We bought a 17 foot used U-haul van in the winter of '05 and ran an ad in the classifieds offering moves and delivery.  The tide of calls that winter mostly trended towards moving household goods.  We stayed busy on a hand to mouth basis but we were determined to build up a client base and the trust of the community in and around Missoula.  It was an exciting time owning and operating our own business.  We knew how to carefully move furninture but at the time didn't know of the storm of red tape that lurked ahead of us.  When our popularity increased in the spring and summer we were finally made aware of the deep and complex licensing requirements for household goods motor carrying.  After much protest from the competition and a potential ugly hearing on the necessity of our service in front of the Public Service Commission, we had the opportunity to purchase an authority to do our work statewide.  By the winter of '06 we had our ducks in a row to buy the authority.  In 2007 we were operating with Public Service Commission licensing.   All along we knew there was a demand for a smaller, more personalized moving service.  To this day, that has proved to be true and we gratefully serve many wonderful customers in Missoula and all of Montana.  A big thank you to our customers for your business and continued support to keep our employee owned and operated dream alive.

Pictured at left is our latest van, hopefully some day a reality T.V. show will trick it out or give us a new one...
